Amerigroup Name Change to WellPoint
If you have any questions reach out to me directly or utilize Wellpoint web page for more information on all current updates. I have sent multiple educational emails including: current self-service tools through Availity, claim filing requirements, Payor ID #, demographic updates, how to contact EDI for rejected claims and other topics.
I recommend:
-To contact your clearinghouse or in-house software representative to make sure your EMR system is updated accordingly including taxonomy and the new payer ID #: WLPNT as of 1/1/2024. Old payer ID is not accepted.
-Validate/update demographic information through Availity.
-All demographic updates, including taxonomy, should be submitted through Provider Data management in Availity. * this does not apply to delegated credentialed providers* Please see attached Provider Data Management how-to.
-For rejected claims contact @ va1claimsedi@amerigroup.com; include the following items in the email:
o Caller Name
o Telephone Number
o Provider’s NPI
o Member’s ID
o DOS
o Total charge of claim
o Date of Service
o Document ID or claim number (if available)
-Submit corrected claims within 120 days of EOP. For corrected electronic claims, use the following frequency code: 7 – Replacement of Prior Claim.
