HOW to JOIN

Follow these steps to join today:

  1. Go to the Document Library and download the appropriate application.
    • Be sure to complete all components of the application.
  2. Email completed application to credentialing@tiopa.org with the subject New Provider Application – Last Name, First Name Title
    • Be sure to include all requested information. A clean and complete file ensures quicker processing and causes less confusion.
  3. You will receive an email notification from our credentialing team regarding your application, with an acceptance, missing information, or other notices within 5 days of submission.
  4. Our Board of Directors meets on the fourth Monday of every month unless otherwise stated for Holidays or office closures.
    • Cut off to receive the completed and correct application is 10 days before the Board meets.
      • ie. Board is Monday, Jan 25th, all application packets are due on Friday, Jan 15th by the end of business
  5. We offer expedited membership credentialing for an additional fee if an application is received after the due date to make it to the month’s Board.
  6. You will receive an email of Membership approval by the following Tuesday and instructions to view the provider Web Portal, where you can find and edit provider enrollment and demographics.
  7. Submissions to the networks are completed 10 business days after Board and then effective dates for those networks are received within 30-120 days, dependant on the networks.
    • NOTE: You are required to have a PTAN (Medicare Number) to be submitted to the Medicare Advantage managed care networks, and a TPI (Texas Medicaid ID Number) to be submitted to the Medicaid managed care networks, like CHIP, STAR, STAR+PLUS, and STAR Kids, and a BCBS Provider ID to be submitted to all BlueCross BlueShield and TriWest Plans. Once these ID Numbers are received they will then be submitted to the networks on the next closest submission.

  8. Please keeps us updated on all demographic changes via the WebView web portal to maintain accurate data with the networks. We have one submission each month, in the middle of the month for demographic changes to go out to the networks.
  9. You can contact provider.relations@tiopa.org for any out-of-network issues, claim denials due to network status, or other network-related questions. Please include the Provider’s Full Name, NPI, Tax ID, and Network with Line of Business that you are inquiries about to best assist you with your questions.
  10. There are annual dues that are due in September of every year, please pay timely to avoid additional late fees.
  11. Reappointment applications and fees are due every 3 years for every practicing TIN that you are with.
